Heybourne Park Community Gardening
Heybourne Park Community Gardening joined Crowdfund Barnet1 month ago

We want to expand the existing community garden by clearing a designated area alongside it in order to create an urban permaculture community garden which demonstrates, promotes, educates, celebrates and advocates for environmental and economic sustainability through gardening. We also want to build on the existing engagement of volunteers in preparing and maintaining the garden. We will deliver the following activities: - Gardening activities for local residents including weeding, watering, sowing, pruning, mulching, transplanting, and propagating. - Workshops for residents on gardening and conservation e.g. building insect hotels - Support and advise residents with gardening in their gardens, balconies and window sills - Support residents to transform neglected and fly-tipped plots into communal spaces for community gardening (flowers/herbs/food growing). - Support residents create, plant and tend: food planters, food plants, new flower beds, an edible herb bed & fruit trees

Project Cookbook
Project Cookbook joined Crowdfund Barnet1 month ago

Since Covid, people have been so isolated and lonely and this has affected everyone, young and old. Also during this time, online cooking and cooking videos has really taken off so for our project we would create a cookbook (or series of cookbooks) incorporating recipes from those who have been greatly hit during this pandemic - those in care homes and old age homes. These wonderful people are so full of life and have amazing stories to tell, and what would be more fun than creating a cookbook full of delicious tried-and-tested recipes with photos, stories and tips and tricks from them. We will launch it with an online cooking demonstration, hosted by a celebrity chef, where friends, family, neighbours and all interested foodies can join in and learn to create some wonderful dishes, and even the chance to win some prizes. We will also create an an online presence and post cooking videos for everyone to enjoy, and hear stories of our neighbours and friends.
