We want to hear your ideas for improving Barnet! You know what would help bring your neighbourhood together, improve the local area and build community spirit. These are the things that make a community tick. We want to hear about your ideas for improving Barnet and, where possible, to help make them a reality. Projects could be focused on physical improvements that leave a lasting legacy or they could be events or activities that last just for one day or one week, but which bring people together and help build community.
The Council’s corporate plan, known as Barnet 2024, sets our vision and strategy for the next 5 years. This includes the outcomes we want to achieve for the borough and the priority areas that we will focus limited resources on.
Our 3 outcomes for the borough focus on place, people and communities, and are as follows:
a pleasant, well maintained borough that we protect and invest in
our residents live happy, healthy, independent lives with the most vulnerable protected
safe and strong communities where people get along well
We want to support projects that help us to deliver on the above – the more areas covered, the better!

Create your project page on Spacehive and once you've added your project details you will be matched to the Crowdfund Barnet fund. Here Barnet Council will ask you some additional questions about your project. To take part you must complete your project page, pitch to Crowdfund Barnet and submit your project for verification by 30th March. If you'd like some feedback on your idea before you begin, fill in this short form.
2.SUBMIT YOUR PROJECT FOR VERIFICATION:
Your project costs and necessary permissions or licenses will be checked by independent verifiers, Locality.
3. BEGIN CROWDFUNDING:
Once verified, set your dates and run your crowdfunding campaign between April and June. Barnet Council will review all project campaigns in mid-May so make sure you demonstrate local support for your project through lots of backers.
4. CROWDFUND BARNET PITCH OUTCOME:
Please note the council will not be the first organisation to pledge to your project. They want to see community backing before making a decision. If your are successful, the pledge will be added to your live campaign.
5. HIT YOUR TARGET AND DELIVER YOUR PROJECT:
Spacehive uses an all-or-nothing model, so you must hit your target before pledges can be collected.
