Staffed and managed by Syrian refugee women we will be running a pop up kitchen from an old shop and now community space. This will bring much needed colour, creativity and life to the units. We will be bringing the delicious taste of Syrian food to the people of Barnet through a pop up cafe and supper club. This will give the women involved great experience of running and growing a business in the UK and eventually providing an income for their families.
What we'll deliver:
- Provide appropriate training for all women involved, fantastic for their CVs
- Start a food business run by Syrian women
- Start a Syrian supper club
Why it's a great idea:
This is set to be one of the most exciting projects in the borough and will help Syrian refugee women assimilate to life in the UK. It will give them a role away from family and the home, give them qualifications and experience but more importantly bring the beautiful Syrian food and culture to the people of London.
Steps to get it done:
- catering equipment bought
- first day or pop up cafe
- Marketing including social marketing set up
- All women to have level two hygiene
