More about our impact
The environment
Our partnership with Stagecoach buses helped to promote local bus services and encourage people to consider public transport when visiting the city centre.
The local economy
Our events proved hugely popular and attracted thousands of visitors into Lancaster city centre during the festive period. This extra footfall helped to provide a boost to businesses who rely on crucial Christmas trading to get them through the quieter times when people tend to reduce spend in the new year. We received feedback from many businesses confirming the positive impact our events were having to help draw customers into the city centre who were then visiting their premises.
Arts, culture & heritage
Twelve schools helped decorate snowmen for our trail and we engaged with dozens of local performers for our Switch On and other events organised throughout the festive period.
Activity, health and leisure
Our festive brochures included details about numerous events in the city centre to encourage people to consider it as a top destination for leisure activities.
