Lancaster BID is a not for profit company with a remit to make Lancaster city centre a more attractive place to visit, live, work and do business. We have been working hard to promote Lancaster for more than 11 years.
One of our key priorities is to organise flagship free public events in Lancaster city centre to draw more people into the city and make sure they want to come back.
Our events make use of public space and are accessible to everyone to make sure the whole local community can benefit. We also carry out extensive marketing to promote the city and encourage visitors from further afield.
Lancaster BID is led by a volunteer management board with projects delivered by a small staff team of just one full time and two part time staff. We keep our overheads to a minimum to maximise investment in the city centre. As a not-for-profit company, every penny we receive goes back into the city centre to benefit the whole local community.
We encourage people to shop local and use local suppliers wherever possible to maximise investment back into the local economy.
We are award winning for our events. In 2022, we won the 'Tourism & Visitor Attraction' Award at the Bay Business Excellence Awards and were a finalist again in 2023. We were also finalist in the Small Event of the Year category of the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2022 and 2023. With your support, we will continue to make our events even bigger and better for the whole community to enjoy.
