We are inviting the local community to get active by putting on a 'Mini' Marathon Event.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
This 'Mini' Marathon with distances of 1.6km, 3km and 5km is an event accessible for all. Whether you are less physically able or at your peak in fitness terms, the distances a manageable and appropriately targeted for all abilities. The course is suitable for wheelchair access using ramps at only one point on the course and accordingly is suitable for families with pushchairs. The key ambition is to welcome newcomers as well as the experienced runner to enjoy a sense of achievement together. This grass roots event supports one of our charity's main aims which is to promote Health & Wellbeing.

Why it's a great idea:
There is a lot of scientifically supported evidence that a fit body translates to a fit mind. Walking, jogging and running is encouraged for everyone to support their being physically active and resultingly healthy. If willing, we encourage the participant to help raise money for local projects boroughwide. A perfect way to enjoy a community event and support good causes whilst being physically active.

We support the community voice by delivering projects that there is the need for.
Set up in March 2011, we set about mobilising community resources and empowering the community members themselves to deliver:
- Trumpers Jumpers Sessions throughout the Borough of Tower Hamlets providing free Exercise, Dance and Movement classes to families with children under 5 years endeavouring to support the children's physical, mental, social and emotional development. We reach over 1000 families every year;
- Education Station sessions to top up learning, further support special educational need and prepare those who wish to transition from grass roots state schools to independent, competitive school environments. Each child is celebrated for their unique, individual achievement and a sense of academic prowess encourages an intelligent inquisitiveness from which to springboard into the beauty of learning;
- Events such as our 'Mini' Marathon which supports the take-up of healthier lifestyles with a resultant sense of well-being;
- Helping Hands which supports those that are less physically and mentally able to become more socially and emotionally enabled; and
- Equality, Employment and Empowerment enriches lives with the opportunity for employment whilst celebrating the passions of each inidividual it reaches.
