VCSA has been delivering health and sports provisions for residents of Tower Hamlets since its inception in 1997. It is a well-known and highly respected sports and physical activities provider within the borough. On an annual basis over 2000 people benefit from our provisions.
We have been providing a programme of weekly sports and physical activities for those with learning disabilities since 2009. During those 10 years, just over 900 people with learning disabilities have benefited from our provisions. Prior to the Covid-19 crisis, on average 80 young people and 120 adults were participating regularly in the provisions.
VCSA are an approved youth service provider having worked in partnership with LBTH Youth Service in the delivery of summer and holiday provision for young people in Tower Hamlets for several years.
VCSA have achieved the Silver Level London Youth Quality Mark, a quality assurance scheme accredited by City and Guilds, in recognition for its quality of service provision for young people. We are currently in the process of renewing our accreditation and are targeting the Gold Level which is the highest mark available to youth organisations.
VCSA have achieved FA Charter Club Development Club status. Vallance FC is only one of three clubs in Tower Hamlets to have attained this status in recognition for its high-quality levels of provision in football, including for those with disability.
VCSA has also adopted the Inclusive & Active 2 action plan – to deliver quality provisions for those with disability, ensuring best practice and adoption and implementation of the necessary policies and procedures to ensure safe and secure provisions.
