Updates
Hello to all our backers. This is an exciting update for us as we are now ready for our Music Box to take to the road. Thanks to all of the donations we received from you the van we bought now looks amazing inside and out! Our wonderful new branding is fresh and striking and certainly eye catching, and the inside is ready and equipped for the traditional and digital music making sessions we have always planned. Our first booking is for the Worcester Show which is taking place on Sunday 15 August on Pitchcroft, Worcester – we will be experimenting with a range of drop-in multi-cultural music taster sessions throughout the day. So, if you are nearby, please drop in and say hello. We would be delighted to give you a tour and would love to hear what you think about the project so far.
Our Travelling Music Box crowdfunding campaign has won us an award! Really thrilled to announce that we have won a National Arts Fundraising School Emcee award 2020 - Best Digital / Online Fundraising Campaign 2020 – recognising SevernArts as one of the UK’s arts, culture and heritage sector’s fundraising successes! As you know, our Music Box project has been on hold for a few months due to Covid, but we have just started moving forward with our conversion plans again and have our fingers crossed for a Spring time launch. We will keep you updated as we progress.
Enabling everyone to imagine, fund & launch local projects that bring Worcestershire to life.
Hello to all our backers. I am writing to update you on the progress we have made with our Travelling Music Box, to which you so kindly pledged. Earlier this year, we found a suitable van to purchase, which will hold about 10 children and a facilitator at any one time. This used to be a local authority mobile computer bus so is already ply-lined, with disabled access, awning, and some fixtures. We have made great progress in specifying the conversion of the van to turn it into our Music Box, and we are planning the session offer - which will include traditional and digital music activities. We have draft designs for a livery, creating a colourful, welcoming sight. The next step will be to carry out the conversion and to start to deliver musical visits across Worcestershire. With the current situation caused by Covid-19, I am sure you will understand that we are not currently able to set immediate dates for delivery of sessions. We may also be delayed on the van conversion itself, depending on which conversion companies are operating at this time. We are very excited to be developing the Music Box - and pleased with the progress we have made - but please bear with us whilst we navigate this new landscape. As soon as we can, we will be rolling out the Music Box to bring musical participatory activity to a place near you. Thank you for your understanding and we do hope you are all keeping well and safe in these unprecedented times. Best wishes Severn Arts
