At the cafe we provide an opportunity for volunteers of all abilities to learn new skills, gain confidence and hopefully thrive and make friends hopefully decreasing rural loneliness for some..We have a freindly and dedicated team who provide a warm and welcome space for friends and family to meet and enjoy some quality refreshments. We rely on volunteers of all ages and support SEN students from two local schools who help with baking and gardening. Our SEN Students can showcase their skills each week as what they bake in the cafe is available in the cafe at weekends and we have Open Days where they can show off how proud they are of their achievments and how their confidence has grown.
We provide training for our weekend teen team with Food hygiene Certificates and other training for locally employed staff in safe guarding,First Aid and GDPR and more. We support people in craft sessions and walking groups using Whitegate Way.
