Hello backers! You may have noticed that our campaign end date has changed. The programme we're part of, Crowdfund London, is running its biggest ever round with its most ambitious set of campaigns to date. It's been acknowledged that all campaigns would benefit from a couple of extra weeks as trying to secure the remaining funds, particularly from large organisations who can pledge big amounts, is more difficult in the summer when people are on holiday. With a new deadline of Tuesday 27 August we've now got four weeks to hit our target, and we're going to give it our best shot. Whoop, 110 people have pledged since fundraising began!
As we posted last week, our project was chosen by Crowdfund London to receive a £50k pledge from the Mayor of London. Here's what they said about us: "This is a hugely ambitious project which speaks to many of the core principles of the work of the Regeneration and Economic Development team here at City Hall. It will secure and create workspace, it will support the local economy, it will build skills and employability and share the history of a fascinating cultural asset. This is the biggest project we’ve ever seen be a part of Crowdfund London, and its ambition matches its size."
