Today Iskcon Leicester celebrated their annual Rathayatra or Festival of the Chariots at Cossington Park in Leicester. This festival is the biggest of its kind outside India, where it has its origins. Iskcon Leicester had a stand with information on the Roof Appeal and collected pledges and donations from the visitors. Tonight it pledged a whopping £10.000 towards the campaign! Many thanks for this kind of support. We are almost there now, target - and time wise. One more day to go!!! If you are thinking of supporting this incredible cause, act now! You have until midnight tomorrow....

Friends of Goddard has an informal presentation this morning with members of the 'University of the Third Age/Architectural Group'. The topic was the Leicestershire Banking Company building, its architect Joseph Goddard, the original drawing books of the building itself and Goddard's former residence 'Knighton Spinney' and last but not least the future plans of the building. It was a friendly and interesting couple of hours and the members attending donated £55 towards the Friends of Goddard's Roof Appeal. Thank you so much for this, its very much appreciated! Hopefully we meet again during the Heritage Open Days in September.
We just received a massive £5.000 pledge from the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation towards our Roof Appeal project. An incredible boost for us, with only 9 days to go! If you were thinking of supporting this project, then now is the time to make that pledge and pull this project over the line. Thank you all for supporting Friends of Goddard.
