An exciting opportunity to create and fund inspirational projects in your local community
Modernising TCC's technical facilities to upgrade sound, lighting, and projection ensures a premier venue for culture, connection, and inclusivity, enriching community engagement year-round.
Tarvin Community Centre (TCC) is the heart of our community, hosting diverse year-round events run by dedicated volunteers. From award-winning theatre, music, and Cheshire Rural Touring Arts productions to a popular community cinema and regular healthy activity clubs, classes, and a library, TCC really does offer something for everyone. Our ethos is to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where participants, performers, and volunteers all feel valued. We continually invest in our space; recent upgrades include improved accessible and standard toilets and a larger projection screen to enhance our cinema nights. This project focuses on modernising our technical facilities. By upgrading our sound, lighting and projection capabilities, we will ensure TCC remains the premier local venue for high-quality culture and connection, reinforcing its reputation as THE place to be!
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Our project aims to: IMPROVE INCLUSIVITY: Installing the latest assistive hearing tech—Auracast—into main spaces makes our live events and cinema accessible for deaf, blind, and Autistic attendees, allowing personal device control for custom audio and sensory attenuation. UPGRADE SOUND EQUIPMENT: Providing a more immersive, higher-quality experience for our audiences, especially at our community cinema. UPGRADE THE PROJECTOR: Being rural, with limited transport and high commercial cinema prices, our "Friday Film Nights" are a valued night out. Upgrading to laser technology provides a first-class viewing experience—without the worry of a bulb going "pop"! MODERNISE THEATRE LIGHTING & SAFETY: Replacing outdated tungsten lamps with modern LEDs lowers our carbon footprint, offers versatile lighting, and ensures safer working. We will also replace old wooden access ladders with safe, modern metal ones.
