The English village of Tarvin is situated in rural Cheshire, 6 miles east of the city of Chester. Tarvin Community Centre was built in 1970. We welcome all members of our community and strive to create a safe, inclusive environment that everyone can be part of and enjoy. The centre provides for a variety of weekly activities suitable for a range of ages and abilities. As well as hosting visiting performers including the award-winning Ashton Hayes Theatre Club and not forgetting our very popular monthly Friday Film nights showcasing recent releases. Sadly, nothing lasts forever and much of our technical equipment, like many of us, is well past its prime and quite frankly knackered, which is why we have launched our funding campaign Inclusive and Immersive Tarvin's Tech Upgrade. Top of our wish list is the installation of the latest assistive hearing technology, Oracast. This will not only benefit those people who experience hearing loss, we hope to be able to provide audio description for our film nights. It will also allow those with neurodiversity to attenuate the soundscape around them whilst still being able to enjoy a film. To improve the experience for our film night audiences, we plan to invest in the latest laser projection technology, providing 4K cinema quality optics and a brighter image. This will also be ideal for business meetings and seminars as it will allow a better reproduction in ambient lighting. Coupled with improved video. We plan to enhance our audio system to provide the latest in surround sound to complement the upgraded visuals. This will also be of great benefit to our live performances, especially musical acts. Much of our stage lighting stock relies on outdated tungsten filament lighting, which is inefficient, lacking in capabilities by modern standards, and produces unwanted heat that is uncomfortable for our audiences. Therefore, we want to expand our range of LED luminaires to help further reduce our carbon footprint, provide greater versatility in what the lighting can do, and create a safer working environment for our volunteer technical team. Coupled with a new lighting control unit, it will allow us to go from this to this. Lastly but certainly not least, and again with the welfare of our technical team in mind, we urgently need to replace the rickety wooden access ladders with new safe and more secure steel ones. With your generosity, together we can make all this happen and hit our target of 8985 lbs.
