More about our impact
The local economy
Chester City Baths has been a centre of swimming since it opened in 1901, but to remain viable, the Pacific Pool needs to be re-opened. Without this, the baths could be forced to close.
Volunteering, jobs & education
Re-opening the Pacific Pool will maintain the security of employment for our staff, while creating more water-time so that local children will benefit from a learn-to-swim program at Chester City Baths.
Arts, culture & heritage
Chester City Baths is a Grade Two listed building in the centre of the historic CIty of Chester, where generations of local citizens have learned to swim. This project has been a major step towards ensuring the future of the building for years to come.
Activity, health and leisure
The ability to swim is not only an essential life-skill, but is also a fantastic and pleasurable way of keeping healthy by promoting activity in the water. As previously mentioned, re-opening the Pacific Pool is essential for the future of Chester City Baths.
