Wild About Wildlife: Restoration Project
Help fund the renovation of Surrey Docks Farm’s wildlife garden to provide a haven for wildlife and a refuge for people to connect with the natural environment
About the Project Creator
Surrey Docks Farm is a working community farm in London engaging local people in farming and food provenance. Open 7 days a week from 10am til 4pm and with free entry, we offer a beautiful slice of rural life in the heart of the city.
Young people are at the heart of our work, with the Youth Committee and Young Farmers taking the lead on our wildlife garden fundraising in response to feedback of the young people using our services. We hold the Bronze Level London Youth Quality Mark, a quality assurance scheme accredited by City and Guilds.
The Farm has all the usual farm animals as well as food growing gardens. We sell eggs, meat, fruit and vegetables through our farm shop.
The Farm involves the whole community through toddlers clubs, youth clubs, school visits, volunteering, work experience and training projects for adults with learning disabilities.
The Farm cares for a variety of green areas including an orchard, herb garden, dye garden, vegetable plots and wildlife garden. The Farm offers bee keeping workshops and green workshops, three annual fairs, picnic areas and a working blacksmith’s forge.
