Updates
We’re really excited to share a progress update from Mums Hub 💜 Over the past few weeks, we’ve officially begun delivering the project, and it’s been an incredible start. We launched our first confidence-building session in Charleville Mall Library, with a great group of mums attending. It was a warm, supportive space focused on building confidence and exploring next steps towards employment. We’ve also: • Delivered a CV workshop in St. Vincent’s School, with three more now booked • Engaged over 60 mums through our online Mums Hub community and library sessions • Supported more than 20 mums into upskilling opportunities To provide more personalised support, we have now introduced dedicated one-to-one sessions every Tuesday, where mums can book time to: • Review their progress • Identify next steps • Get support with applications and opportunities As part of this, we also act as a digital connector, signposting mums to relevant services, supports, and opportunities available to them. Alongside delivery, we’ve completed a Needs Assessment, backed by a community survey, helping us better understand the real barriers mums are facing and shape our supports accordingly. On the setup side, we have: • Secured insurance • Set up our accounting system • Established a dedicated Mums Hub phone number with unlimited calls and data • Started building a new website, which will be launching soon We’ve also been able to reallocate some funds thanks to being accepted onto Canva and Google Nonprofit programmes, allowing us to invest more directly into programme delivery and supports. There is still more to come, and we’re continuing to build and grow each week. Remaining funds will continue to support programme delivery, including upcoming sessions, one-to-one supports, and development of the digital hub. Thank you again for your support, it’s already making a real difference 💜 Best wishes, Karla Dragic Mums Hub
We have now received our bank card and officially started project delivery. As a first step, we have secured and paid for our annual insurance, which was a key requirement to begin delivering activities safely. We also have some great news, we’ve been accepted for both Canva Nonprofit and Google for Nonprofits. These tools were originally included in our project budget, but we now receive them for free. This means we can reallocate those funds to better support delivery. The reallocated funding will go towards: • Xero accounting and bookkeeping software to ensure strong financial management • Specialist training (Women’s Aid) to ensure best practice when supporting vulnerable individuals • A professional website template, allowing us to build a high-quality platform efficiently and focus our time on supporting mums rather than learning web design from scratch In addition, we are planning to enrol mums in the LIFT programme to support confidence building. We’re also excited to share that our monthly confidence-building sessions will begin at the end of this month in Charleville Mall Library. We have applied for additional funding through NEIC to support this programme, but if needed, Spacehive funds may be used to deliver the first session and ensure we can get started without delay. Thank you again for your support, it is already making a real difference in helping us move from idea into action. More updates coming soon 💜 Karla
Hello everyone, We wanted to share a small update regarding the project budget. As we move closer to delivering the Mums Hub pilot, we have identified that organisational insurance is an essential requirement before beginning activities. To ensure the project can operate safely and responsibly, we will be reallocating the funds originally planned for Canva and the laptop towards insurance cover for the organisation. This adjustment does not change the goals of the project. It simply ensures we have the correct safeguards in place as we begin delivering the work. We are currently in the process of opening the organisation’s bank account (meeting scheduled for 13 March) and hope to begin project delivery shortly after. Thank you again for supporting Mums Hub and helping make this project possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Karla Mums Hub
I want to sincerely thank everyone who donated, shared, encouraged, and supported Mums Hub over the past weeks. Every euro, every share, and every kind word truly mattered and helped get us over the line. Thank you also to Dublin City Council for their pledge and support of this project. Reaching the public target means that their matched funding can now be released, allowing Mums Hub to move from groundwork into delivery. This support means we can continue building real, paid, school-hour work for mums and practical pathways into work that are organised around family life. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who believed in this work and helped make this possible. Thank you 💜 Karla
Brilliant news, thanks everyone!
Whoop, 60 people have pledged since fundraising began!
We’re in the final 3 days of the Mums Hub crowdfunding campaign and just €184 away from reaching our public target. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported and shared so far, I am incredibly grateful for the belief and encouragement. Reaching the target will unlock matched funding from Dublin City Council and allow us to move from groundwork into delivery of real, paid, school-hour work for mums. If you’re able to share the campaign link over the next few days, it would make a real difference as we head into the final stretch. 🔗 Campaign link: https://www.spacehive.com/support-hub-for-local-mums Thank you again for being part of this journey.
