“For many mothers, the issue is not a lack of ambition, it is wanting to work without being absent from their children’s everyday lives.”

More about our impact

More about our impact

The environment

The environment

The project is mainly social and economic in focus. However, the digital hub reduces the need for printed information by making resources, pathways and signposting available online. Local signposting also helps families access supports closer to home.

The local economy

The local economy

The project supports the local economy by helping mothers move closer to employment, training and upskilling, while also building relationships with employers around more family-friendly and school-hour work options. Mums Hub has also started developing an employer-facing blueprint to support businesses to create more accessible roles.

Volunteering, jobs & education

Volunteering, jobs & education

Six people supported project delivery, including Mums Hub’s founder/coordinator working unpaid. The project also supported mothers with CVs, confidence building and pathways into education, training and work. More than 30 CVs have been created, over 20 mothers have been signposted to courses or upskilling opportunities, and employer pathways are being developed with four employers.

Arts, culture & heritage

Arts, culture & heritage

This project was not primarily focused on arts, culture or heritage. However, the Mums Hub Directory includes local community, cultural and low-cost activities that help mothers and families access more of what is available in their area.

Activity, health and leisure

Activity, health and leisure

The project supports wellbeing by connecting mothers with local services, community activities, outdoor spaces and low-cost things to do through the Mums Hub Directory. The Confidence Building Programme also created a supportive space for mothers to connect, reduce isolation and take practical next steps.
