The Museum of Spalding Gentlemen's Society was founded in 1710 and is the second oldest museum in England. Its early collection has been given nationally important designated status.
We ask you donate to pay for architects plans to extend into the neighbouring building, the former Business Centre, to rid the conservation street of a rather ugly building and create a fully open public museum for South Holland and beyond.
The architects plans will enable the museum to bid to major funders to create a heritage and cultural centre for the region. A centre where schools and the community can visit, attend workshops, talks and meet up, join as members or volunteers. Where historians can research and students can come for work experience.
These architects plans will be the starting point for a multi million pound project.
