Southwark Community Response Fund is crowdfunding to support older & vulnerable people through the COVID-19 crisis. Local charitable trusts have invested to kickstart efforts but they need your help.
Southwark Council and its partners are working together to support Southwark’s most vulnerable residents. But there is more we need to do. In addition to the financial support from Southwark Council and the Government in response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Southwark Community Response Fund has been set up which anyone can donate to. The fund is run by United St Saviour’s Charity and has been kick-started with £450,000 from local charitable trusts. You can help by donating to the Southwark Community Response Fund. All money raised will go towards helping vulnerable people in Southwark get the support and help they need during at this difficult time.

The campaign is now closed and we are collecting the pledges. We have substantially exceed our target and have been overwhelmed by the support and generosity of the people of Southwark! We have had a few questions about pledge collection, so we wanted to reassure you about the process. GoCardless, which is the payment platform Spacehive use for pledges, operates by setting up a one off direct debit which can only be used once, when the project reaches its target. When you entered your bank details, the message on the screen would have started that you were setting up a one off direct debit. You do not need to cancel the Direct Debit after the campaign finishes as the one off Direct Debit means that it cannot be used again. Spacehive have a FAQ on this which you may find useful. https://help.spacehive.com/why-is-my-pledge-appearing-as-a-direct-debit You can also email [email protected] if you have any further questions.
