Back this project!

For over 30 years, the Barons Court Theatre has brought unforgettable shows to the heart of Hammersmith and Fulham, creating a welcoming, creative place for our community. But our beloved theatre seats and risers, which have welcomed thousands of residents over the years, are now worn out and in need of urgent replacement. That’s why we’ve joined up with Hammersmith & Fulham Council to raise the funds for this essential upgrade. Donate today and help ensure we can complete the project successfully and safely welcome our artists and audiences for years to come.

What we'll deliver:

  • Safe removal of current seating
  • Safe demo and removal of current risers
  • Safe removal of wood edge of the stage
  • Cleaning and painting of the auditorium
  • Installation of new theatre edging with white line painting
  • Installation of new risers by an industry professional
  • Installation of new seating that is safe and durable
  • New painting on theatre steps and edges for safer use of the space
  • Load testing and documentation to ensure safety standards are met

Why it's a great idea:

Barons Court Theatre champions early career, emerging, and returning theatre makers. Our flagship projects, the Reboot Festival (annual short play festival launched to support theatremakers to return to theatre following the pandemic), Sunday Fix (monthly new writing scratch night), and Queering the Canon (week-long event of new work from genderqueer artists), are all aimed at opening up theatre to new voices historically excluded from our stages. We are a hub of international new writing as well as regularly supporting and developing work from local artists. Completing these urgent renovations will ensure Barons Court Theatre can safely welcome artists and audiences to its space and continue its work as a cultural hub in our community for years to come. Securing our future will mean we can begin planning for more ways to support cultural activities in our neighbourhood for the benefit of everyone who lives in the area and beyond.

Steps to get it done:

  • Phase 1 - Removal of exisiting seats, risers, and wood edging followed by cleaning and painting the space
  • Phase 2 - Phase 2 - Installation of new seats, risers and wood edging
  • Phase 3 - Phase 3 - Final checks and reporting
