The idea
Our club (Est 1919) has a long tradition of providing cricket for the local community in this ex-mining area.
The club has a long-standing reputation for providing young people and adults with safe, accessible and inspirational cricketing opportunities, for all levels, ages and abilities.
The practice area (nets) are out-dated and of a poor standard to offer quality sports opportunities for the community and groups it serves.
Reaching our target will enable us to fund the renovation of the old surface and preparing the nets ready for the installation of a top-class alternative.
What we'll deliver
- Renovate old net area (ground clearance)
- Buy mobile (wheeled) net
Why it's a great idea
Junior cricket and participation is relatively lacking in our area, partly due to barriers limiting access to suitable quality pitches, coaching and club opportunities.
We are determined to help level the playing field and ensure anyone can take part, regardless of background, age and ability.
Upgrading the facilities will provide the opportunity for role models to inspire local children to get involved and experience sporting activities.
Steps to get it done
- Clear the overgrown area
