Updates
We are so grateful to each and every one of you for your generous donation, and most recently to Barnet Council for covering 50% of our project's costs and for Pentland Brands for covering the remaining 10%. We are almost done with the planting, if you'd like to join us tomorrow, please come to Torrington Park Health Centre tomorrow, Friday 14:30pm. Please watch our video which sums up all the various parts of our pollinator-friendly bulb initiative: https://youtu.be/0mkAletyKFw Here's a little reminder: Between September to November 2022, the Finchley N3 N12 Pollinator Project, in collaboration with London Energy Gardens, have initiated community learning and planting days. The activities included: - An educational webinar teaching about bulbs, and how they can help pollinators (to watch: https://youtu.be/eH3mR3bf41k) - Community planting at FOUR community gardens (Finchley Memorial Hospital, Torrington Park Health Centre, Finchley Central Tube Station and Trinity Church North Finchley) - TWO "plant and take-home" activities (which included planting three layers of bulbs in each pot, aka "Bulb Lasagne"). These activities were funded via a Spacehive crowdfunding campaign: - Members of the public (Barnet Residents) 40% - Barnet Council 50% - Pentland Brands 10% In addition, the following organisations have donated and lent us materials: - Finchley Nurseries - Colindale Community Garden - Incredible Edible Barnet - Garden Transformations Please join our email distribution list to hear about our Spring initiatives https://mailchi.mp/8abb63ec19b1/regis... Brilliant news, thanks everyone!
Whoop, 30 people have pledged since fundraising began!
A quick thanks to everyone who came today to the planting at Trinity Church, North Finchley! We planted so many bulbs at the church's yard and have done our best to proof the plot against squirrles and foxes. We also had many takers at the "plant and take home" table (le d by Holly Pringle) as well as young artists working on a gorgeous sign (led by artist Alison Sharp of Re.New Crafts).Hope you can join us on Saturday at the Finchley Central Tube Station's Garden (Southbound Platform), register here if you haven't done so: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/pollinator-friendly-bulbs-take-home-planting-workshop-tickets-429752530387 and again thank you so much for supporting our project!!
