More about our impact
The environment
Our project supports pollinators in order to provide food security in Finchley, and boost our local biodiversity.
The local economy
Our project supports pollinators which provide food security to home and allotment growers, helping create a saving that can be used for other needs. In addition, the habitat we create help feed local commercial honey producers, mostly micro businesses.
Volunteering, jobs & education
We;ve delivered a webinar by a highly accredited horticulturist, Deena J Kestenbaum, about caring for bulbs, as well as by Holly Pringle, an environmentalist, about the importance of pollinators. We've also created volunteering opportunities such as guiding the public with planting a bulb lasagne, and planting in community spaces.
Arts, culture & heritage
One of our project's Steering Committee members is Alison Sharpe, an upcyling artist (Re.New Crafts). She has created a set of handmade pollinators models made from recycled materials.
Activity, health and leisure
Our project provides gardening knowledge that help people go outside, increase their mental and physical well being.
