Peckham Lido

A quick update to say a massive THANK YOU TO PECKHAM. Through the generosity of 1108 backers, we raised £63,933 in 68 days. This is truly incredible. The team now needs a short rest but we have our architects Studio Octopi already working on developing their competition winning proposals! Look out for us on TV shortly. Today BBC London interviewed Ben and Chris (Studio Octopi) in preparation for a 9min clip to go live soon. We will of course let you know when it’s on. In the clip you’ll see a sketch model by Studio Octopi which is the first glimpse of the designs being developed! These are exciting times for Peckham! Finally, we leave you with a film we made at the SplashMob on July 10th. Hi backers & followers It has been a frenetic couple of weeks. If you missed the AMAZING SplashMob last w-e, look out for the professional photos and short films seeping out into the press and on social media. You'll enjoy them! More on SplashMob in the next update. Two days ago we smashed the record for the most amount of backers for a Spacehive campaign! Previously held by our good friends The Peckham Coal Line (928 backers), we are currently on 969 and will surely pass 1000 before the end of the campaign. Truly incredible community support. Undoubtedly this level of support helped us when the Mayor of London decided to pledge £7,500 towards Peckham Lido 10 days ago. Today we hit 70% of our funding target, so once again a huge thank you to all those who have pledged. If you haven’t yet, now is the time, no sum is too small, or big! We’ve only 18 days to go, so please share our Spacehive page on your social media channels. Finally, today we were able to announce the ASA’s (Amateur Swimming Association) endorsement of the campaign. The ASA has been in existence since 1869. It was the first governing body of swimming to be established in the world and today remains the English national governing body for swimming, diving, water polo, open water and synchronised swimming. So that is some endorsement. Have a read of what they said, this means a lot to us so please share it widely!
