The idea
Our aim is to design and build an oak framed clubhouse that is fit for a tennis club whose playing numbers have grown to over 400 during its life in the beautiful surroundings of Cirencester Park.
The original wooden clubhouse structure has stood the test of time incredibly well due in no small part to the care and repairs carried out regularly by willing tennis club volunteers.
Today however it is really looking its age and both the exterior walls and the roof tiles are both shabby and dilapidated. The structure can no longer benefit from further investment in repairs and crucially doesn’t provide the space and facilities for a thriving and growing community of tennis players.
We will build a bespoke oak framed and larch clad replacement with proper changing facilities, new toilets, large indoor and outdoor social space including a kitchen plus teaching space and equipment for our excellent coaching staff.
The total cost is £197,000. We are crowdfunding to cover the final £10,000
What we'll deliver
- Install new toilet (including disabled access) facilities
- Install a new fully equipped kitchen and serving area
- Install training and event style seating and equipment
Why it's a great idea
A building that enhances the first impressions of the club as you walk through Cirencester Park that will sit perfectly against the backdrop of trees and park land
A building that is both welcoming and accommodates the needs of players of all ages and abilities
A facility that is welcoming to players from other clubs (for matches) and further encourages the LTA to use Cirencester as a venue for their tournaments
A facility that will encourage greater social interaction amongst players and guests alike by having three times our existing usable space plus catering facilities to run social, training and club events
A safe space for children during Summer Camps and coaching courses and with private and secure changing facilities (that we have never had before).
Private space and equipment storage for our Coaching team
Indoor training space to further develop our coaching capabilities through the use of classroom style facilities
A building to last the next 50 years and beyond ......
