Updates
We have planted 3 crab apple and 2 mountain ash saplings, as well as installing a bat box and 2 bird boxes at Callow End playing field. The saplings for Powick football pitch have been heeled in to keep them safe until landscaping is completed. Dog roses have been received and will be planted into the hedgerows over the next few weeks.
With help from volunteers we have planted 200 bluebell bulbs at Callow End playing field and 50 at Powick football pitch as well as 250 wild daffodils at the playing fields. I have recieved the ordered bird and bat boxes and these will be installed over the next few weeks. We're looking forward to receiving the ordered bare rooted saplings and at least with the rain the ground is more suitable for planting.
Thank you to all our backers I am happy to say that we are ordering, the bare rooted trees and bulbs in readiness for the planting season. As Monty Don noted the ground is still too hard to attempt to plant bulbs so I'm hoping for some rain. I will concentrate the planting of trees/ bulbs at Callow End as soon as possible but hold back the planting at the football pitch as there is still landscaping work to be done there. All the plants will have a temperary secure home until they can be transplanted to permanent positions. We have recieved some offers of planting help but it's not too late to volunteer! your services
