Outreach to orgs to lead on SDGs for Camden sent in collaboration with Camden Climate Alliance. Model My City – SDGS for Camden and Camden Climate Change Alliance would like to invite organisations with expertise in implementing the sustainable development goals across the borough to express interest in being part of a leader’s group. Model My City is a community interest company set up as a local and online hub for bringing together multi stakeholders with citizens at the heart to co-produce sustainable cities and lifestyles.

We recognise that the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) offer a framework for creating sustainable socities.

We want to bring the local community together with local organisations and the local council to explore challenges and opportuities for creating a safer, healthier and accesible borough - "not for self, but for all".

Initial plan of action with and for the local community:

*shine a spotlight on local businesses contributing to the SDGs to help raise awareness of what sustainble living looks like in practice

*arrange meet ups, events, workshops and build alliances to explore pathways to decarbonising our local borough

*guidance, educational and training opportunities

*deliver presentations on SDGs and the latest climate science

*crowdsourcing hosts and leads for events, pop ups and workshops targeting food waste, clothing and unwanted items swap shops, repair shops, how and why to switch to renewable energy

*local citizen science opportunities for reducing air pollution in the area, planting trees, and more

*crowdsource and co-produce relevant content for the website, develop social media campaigns in collabration with lcoal organisations and the council, produce guides, toolkits, cheat sheets, tips, myth busting and a discussion board

This is snapshot of what we would like to help deliver.

We will also plan to initiate a call to action to Camden organisations (public, private, charities, community groups etc), staff and residents to join a network for collaborating and offer opportunities to volunteer time, skills, resources or funding towards this ambition of Camden as a leading sustainable borough.
