Voice of Women (VoW) was formed by a group of friends in Southall in 2015. We are a not for profit community company. Our aim is to bring ladies together as friends in Southall and to develop our voice, connections. skills and knowledge.
Our health is very important to us. We try to exercise every day in Jubilee Park doing yoga and walking.
We welcome ladies from all backgrounds and heritages and have Musim and Gujarati members. We also work with others groups in Southall in particular Mael Gael and the lcoal Gurdaras.
We used to meet weekly at Allenbury Rd Church but have not been able to for 18 months due to Covid-19 and safety concerns.
We have been successful in getting a grant in the past from the Community Fund and also a small Sport England grant to do swimming and bowling. We raise funds by collecting a small amount from each member each week.
Good governance is important to us so we agree issues as a group and also have our accounts done annually by an accountant.
Running this campaign is the natural next step for us. We love our Park and our health and want to extend our reach to many more ladies in Southall. A covered area will really help us to do this and we appreaciate any support.
