The aim of the pop up hubs is a one stop shop information point for local residents, their carers and anyone else affected by or with an interest in dementia. The hubs will be placed in locations such as Worthing Library, St Lawrence Surgery, Southdown Leisure, Impulse Leisure, Worthing Hospital, Worthing Town Centre and Drumconner Care Home. The hubs are supported by a coordinator and someone from local organisations such as Carers Support West Sussex, Alzheimer's Society, Guild Care, Dementia Assessment Services, Carers and people living with dementia who are all part of the Worthing Dementia Action Alliance. The hubs are an opportunity for people to find out information if they don't know where else to go or may not have the resources to find out about local day services or support groups.

What we'll deliver:

  • Provide FREE information advice across different locations
  • Provide FREE Memory Cafe for people living with Dementia & their Carers
  • Upgarde our website as a comprehensive resource for independent advice about local Dementia Services.

Why it's a great idea:

Dynamic Events to raise awareness of Dementia Action Week Worthing’s Dementia Alliance will make a huge impact across the town with Dementia Hubs and awareness raising events. Many of the town’s top charities and organisations have joined in with Dementia Friendly Worthing’s initiative to make 2019 a year when even more people become Dementia Friendly and learn about the devastating impact that dementia can have on peoples lives and their families.

Steps to get it done:

  • At least one information Hub in each area every week.

Dementia Hubs will held in Worthing library , Worthing Hospital , GP surgeries and community venues. For more details of these or any other events, visit www.dementiafriendlyworthing.org
