Installing a defibrillator at the Spike now provides several hundred Guildford residents with quicker access to one in the event of a cardiac arrest, where immediate action is crucial. The British Heart Foundation states that using a defibrillator within minutes can increase survival chances by 70%. Training local residents in CPR and defibrillator use will ensure a faster response in an emergency, and benefits the wider community by enabling people to apply these life-saving skills wherever they are needed.
