Lost of income due to Covid-19
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
We are a new start up cricket team. Due to the coronavirus we have lost out on vital funding opportunities and events to help start up the team in the local area of Crigglestone, Wakefield. Such as, an Easter Monday Cricket Festival where we were aiming to earn £1000. Which we have set as our target. Therefore, we have decided to entertain everyone with our virtual quizzes on Tuesday and Friday evenings. Tuesday's are aimed at a certain topic (see our Facebook page for more info) and Friday's are a general pub quiz. Anyone can participate in these quizzes. Just message someone who you know in the club or the page for more information. Since, we will be using zoom to run the virtual quiz and you will need the codes to get on. All we ask for is a small donation to participate in these quizzes with all the funds raised going back into the cricket club. It does not matter if you can give 10p or £10. We are grateful for any donation no matter the amount.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
It is vital that we get an open aged team up and running. Without this none of the other activities could happen. Purchasing these 3 pieces of equipment is a necessary step to bring forth our development plan. To inspire younger age groups to having an interest in playing cricket in their local community. Likewise, for adults and seniors to come down and participate in their local club. Our plan is within the next few years is to increase the quality of our facilities. The Crigglestone committee have already invested in the changing rooms and surrounding facilities. We need this investment to be recognised through the ECB to provide, Junior cricket programmes for future years. There are currently 200 juniors who participate in junior football at Crigglestone Sports Club (Hall Green United). Our ECB 5-year plan is that within 3 years we are providing junior cricket.
