The idea
We will run this 3 times from 3 separate locations.
The project would support beneficiaries within a 'difficult to reach' category. These are individuals that may not usually access the services due to psycho/socioeconomic difficulties. This includes isolation and exclusion due to poor health, disability, poverty and mental health difficulties, including low confidence and self esteem, anxiety, depression.
It is well documented that individuals from the focus area experience high levels of deprivation due to the above issues. These difficulties have been exacerbated due to Covid 19. There is a well documented increase in social isolation, anxiety and depression and many beneficiaries who were previously accessing employment, have lost their jobs and are now dealing with the financial and emotional impact of this.
The project will offer them the opportunity to access the support required to commence a journey to self improvement in terms of their emotional and physical wellbeing.
What we'll deliver
- Improved community cohesion
- People walking more
- Suitable for long Covid sufferer's
Why it's a great idea
It is well documented that individuals from the focus area experience high levels of deprivation due to the above issues. These difficulties have been exacerbated due to Covid-19.
Mindful Walks will identify, via contact with other social enterprises and community services, the beneficiaries in need of the provision.
We will offer them both emotional support and practical tools required to take the first step to walking within the countryside.
