After being forced to shut down an aerial and satellite installation business due to severe pain, I discovered that walking eased my constant pain, which allowed me to gradually decrease my medications. While this may not work for everyone, and is by no means a suitable immediate replacement for medication or professional advice, I find that sitting around for extended periods increases my pains, making walking an extremely beneficial activity.
In 2018, having felt the benefits of walking and mindfulness in easing pains and anxieties, Mindful Walks was established, as a Community Interest Company, with the hope of encouraging those in the local area to re-engage with nature.
Mindful Walks is accessible to those of all abilities, whether an experienced walker looking for a new, challenging, route, or someone of mobility issues. We offer a selection of local, accessible routes, as well as individually guided walks for a variety of skill levels.
Having completed Mountain Leaders training in July of 2020, receiving recognised certification, Mindful Walks aims to continue providing community services, as well as extending the range of offered activities to meet a range of needs and experiences.
