We already have a team of lads on our estate that were once loitering like many are now but were fortunate enough to find something they could be passionate about, they are now heavily involved in Calisthenics & have qualified as personal trainers, they are competing on some of the biggest street workout competitions & events in the world. They want to train the youth on the estate & give them the same chance & experience they have had. Our project will benefit the whole of the community as there will be sessions available for everyone, it will also help with antisocial behaviour. The youth can also work towards becoming a qualified trainer, competing & becoming part of a team. Apart from the bars the bar park also has space for an allotment where we will grow organic vegetables & herbs. Many of the trainers have become vegans as what you consume is vital for overall health & fitness. Both will encourage people onto the park & will bring togetherness through the generations.

What we'll deliver:

  • Clearing Rubble & removing debris
  • Safety flooring & fitting
  • Allotment ground work
  • Installation of railway sleepers

Why it's a great idea:

Youths from Poverty, Broken homes, absent fathers, no direction or guidance, emotional & physical abuse, dysfunctional family life, parent addictions, feelings of worthlessness & hopelessness in children manifest into anger, disillusion & fearfulness, if these issues and feelings are left untreated & unresolved you get a young person full of negativity, distrust and pain & many have mental health issues brought on by a painful childhood. Many will turn to crime & will be caught up in the prison system. This common ground between them brings them together & some would label them as a gang. We have many innovative ways & ideas to help change negative mindsets & to create a more positive, productive environment, to empower & enable them to believe in themselves, gaining confidence & hopefulness for the future, helping to find their hidden talents and abilities & to give them a sense of purpose & belonging and to work together with others as a team.

Steps to get it done:

  • Rubble & concrete to be removed
  • Calisthenic bars to be installed
  • Sleepers for our raised allotment bed to be installed
  • Safety flooring to be supplied & laid
  • Benches to be bought & installed
  • 2 x large bins to be bought (one recycled & one compost)
  • Soil & compost to be bought & put down
  • Seeds & plants to be sourced & planted
  • Signs for bar park & allotment to be bought & fitted
  • Landscaping

The youth can work towards becoming personal trainers enabling them to become employed/self employed, they will also have the opportunity to compete all around the world. There is no project like this on any estate in this country and it will be a success. We are happy to assist in promoting the same bar set up in other areas. There are no weights used, its just your body weight against the bars, once you have the basics you can learn to do some awesome things. We have videos of our boys in action and would love to share these with you so you can see how great this project really is. Please go to www.barsparta.co.uk. Enjoy!!!!
