More about our impact
The environment
The Community Garden continues to provide a green space for residents to plant for food and for enjoyment and to encourages care for the environment and an appreciation of the ecological impact of our activities. We have p ut in much work to improve and enhance the space and to increase biodiversity. Unfortunately the space is blighted by anti social activity and is not respected by all who use it. It is open to the public at all times and is difficult to police. Fly tipping is common ( a prosecution is outstanding) and recently higly poisonous weed killer was spread over around half of the garden, killing everything it touched. WE do inted to solier on with the garden and are now seeking delivery partners to address these problems through consultation and design.
The local economy
