Updates
With another generous pledge of £25 a grand total of £9503 has been donated by our backers. Including a magnificent donation towards materials and labour. We can now start the work as soon as possible and construct not just a safer footpath but a fully accessible footpath route for all. Meanwhile the crowdfunding website will remain open until 22nd March to enable "Overfunding". This will help cover costs of signage, dog bins and a permissive path agreement. All last minute pledges will be very welcome and will be fully applied to this project. Our warmest thanks to everyone who has made this possible and we look forward to seeing you at the opening in this Coronation Year.
Whoop, 50 people have pledged since fundraising began!
Brilliant news, thanks everyone!
Our target is now within sight with 90% of it pledged. A very big thank you to all our donors for the nearly £1000 pledged during January, including several generous people who donated anonymously and who we have not been able to thank in person. We are very grateful to you. We now hope that the month of February will see our last and vital effort to get over the line or indeed to exceed our target! A good suggestion has been made by one of our donors - that the path be made accessible for people who use wheelchairs. We fully support this idea. It will need the path to be wider and the kissing gates at each end to be enlarged for wheelchairs to get through so we will need to raise an extra £3,800 to cover the cost. Even though this amount may be hard to raise at this late stage we will apply all donations made in excess of our target to this aim and every pound donated will help make the path more suitable for people who use wheelchairs or mobility scooters. We thank you for your continued support and look forward in this Coronation Year to celebrating the opening of the new footpath with red, white and blue tape!
