Bend Reality Youth Life Coaching (BRYLC) is a free Life Coaching program for a group of twenty 16-25s in Church Street, helping our Young Generation Z to work towards their dreams. This could be from finding an arts apprenticeship to guiding them to start their own business using film & tech.
BRYLC will start with a one-week program which is also filmed, edited and uploaded on social media. Participants will get involved with the filming as a skill-building exercise. Then this is followed by a 1-1 meeting to follow up on their progress. After the second week, BRYLC provides ongoing online support.
BRYLC focuses on our Generation Z's creative passion so they can succeed, by helping them to find out where they can fit into a creative career in media arts. We look at tackling limited beliefs, streets crime, looking into the importance of wellbeing and guiding our young generation towards their aspirations through film & photography.
3 courses will be provided in the next 3 months.
What we'll deliver:
- Participants will learn how to organise a CV, apply for jobs or apprenticeships in media
- Participants will learn how to film and edit videos / lead a healthy lifestyle
- Collaborate with job centre and support the youth to get back to work
- Tackling mental health issues by delivering meditation and breath work sessions
Why it's a great idea:
Following the delivery of the first project in the Church Street area. BRYLC is developing and becoming bigger by responding to the needs of the youth. The need to ensure their mental wellbeing is looked after, the need to support them to get back to work and ensure their dreams and aspirations are supported has become crucial if we want to have the generation Z take over in the next couple years. Therefore, we realised the youth was stressed and anxious in their daily lives and their mental wellbeing will be our top priority. The youth need support in getting back to work and we will provide them with all the necessary tools including borrowing suits for interviews, borrow electric scooter to get to their interviews. Equally supporting them with transport fees before they start their jobs.
Steps to get it done:
- Buying cameras, laptop, suits, and equipments,
- Coaching the youth and helping them to achieve their aspirations
- Support the youth wellbeing by providing breathwork and meditation sport activities
