Our project is a run/walk from Workington cricket club in Cumbria to the Lords cricket ground in London. We aim to do this by covering the miles using STRAVA. This will be achieved by various members/players/fans of the club logging and tracking their miles via the strava app. This not only promotes exercise and good health but will also be benificla for mental health during this tough time period caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic. We will use the funds generated from the project to help provide PPE for staff and members alike, help with the running of the club and providing new equipment for junior and senior times in order to ensure we provide a first class service to our community.

What we'll deliver:

  • fund new cricket equipment for senior and junior teams
  • Provide PPE for staff and safe working conditions in response to COVID-19
  • Help with ground maintenance costs

Why it's a great idea:

As COVID-19 has hit the cricket club hard due to missing out on our most finacnailyl profitbale months we are looking to prduce a succssful fundraiser in order to establis hthe criket club can run in an effective and sustainable manner next year and in the future. Not only b providing an excellent function room for the general public but by offering a great cricket facility for senior teams and junior teams. The club is also a great faciltiy for the local Park Run, Allerdale girls football team and the learn to run club. Therefore providing huge benefits to the local community.

Steps to get it done:

  • Reopening the cricket nets
  • Starting Senior Cricket training
  • Starting Junior Cricket training
  • Reopening the Changing Rooms
  • Reopening the Club house
