Wirral CP BC is an established Amateur Boxing Club and Registered Charity based in Little Sutton near Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. The club has supported the local community for over 40 years. It has a track record of producing performance athletes with championship achievements while providing recreational boxing and fitness opportunities for all members of society, regardless of age, sex, religion, sexuality, ethnicity, or disability.
We are a legally defined organisation with a written constitution (available on request). It has an executive management committee consisting of a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer and 3 trustees
The club is affiliated with the Community Police Clubs of Great Britain and the Merseyside & Cheshire Association of England Boxing. It is proud of its Clubmark accreditation. (Clubmark was introduced by Sport England in 2002 as the operating gold standard for sports clubs).
We operate from our owned premises covering 4800 sq ft. at 55, Station Road, Little Sutton, CH66 1NY. Our facility is in a prime location for public transport with both the Train station and Bus Stop a 2 minute walk from the gym doors.
The club is heavily involved in the community based campaign "Gloves Not Gangs". The objective of this campaign is to reach a young, targeted group who are at risk of engaging in anti-social behaviour associated with gang culture. The club also helps to promote The White Ribbon Campaign (UK), which is part of a global initiative to help raise awareness of domestic violence.
We have a duty of care to all our members but we always try and keep a closer eye on our youth members as this is a critical timeframe in their lives. This has been demonstrated further during the challenging time of the pandemic (2019-22) - It has proven particularly difficult but ever more important to keep track of our 14-17 year old youth members.
We have now just launched a new Inclusive boxing class, aimed at people with special educational needs and disabilities. The class will be held every Sunday and will feature non-contact boxing and exercise workouts which can be undertaken at the participants own pace
