The club aims to improve access and extend the building on its existing site. Funding is being raised to improve access for inclusive boxing class members and preliminary works for extending the gym.
Money raised will go towards the first phase of the construction works which features: - Improved access to our club for our inclusive boxing class members by installing a new paved ramp suitable for wheelchair access. - Bike storage for members cycling to the gym. - General improvements to access steps. - Funding will also go towards the preliminary works for the second phase of the construction which will be to increase the size our gym. We want to increase and promote community participation in healthy recreation, primarily for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Cheshire West and Chester and surrounding areas, by providing facilities and opportunities for fitness classes and activities to help improve physical health and the wellbeing, to all members of society irrespective of age, sex, religion, sexuality, ethnicity, or disability. Our aim is to help improve Health and Wellbeing, Discipline, Fair play, Respect, Self Confidence, Social Inclusion, for all our community members.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Increasing capacity and outreach for current classes and for our inclusive classes. Increase community participation. Increase awareness of the clubs community campaigns, including - Inclusive sports by increasing our provisions aimed at those within our community with special educational needs and disabilities by developing their mental, physical and moral capabilities through leisure time activities. -"Gloves Not Gangs". The objective of this campaign is to reach a young, targeted group who are at risk of engaging in anti-social behaviour's associated with gang culture. - The White Ribbon Campaign (UK) to help raise awareness of domestic violence during out female only boxing classes.
Steps to get it done:
Wirral CP Boxing Club will help in the development both mentally and physically through sport and activity by providing training programs for all members of our community. Activities on offer aim to mix different age groups with suitably qualified coaches to encourage interaction at different levels to help with confidence, team building, leadership and adaptation skills. We aim to be role models for all members of our gym, both inside and outside of amateur boxing The club's motto is 'We Never Turn Anyone Away'. Inclusivity and diversity are thus at the heart of the club's ethos.
