We have already created our Healthy Food & Wellbeing Club, with great success. Let's make it even bigger! Our fortnightly sessions help some of the most disadvantaged people in Newcastle find community, access nutritious food and improve their wellbeing through physical activity and exercise. We want to make this a weekly project that can help more people in our community, increase in size and scope and help protect those most in danger this winter. With your help we will... - Improve our outside terrace space for cosy meet ups, physical activities (protected from the elements) and improve our play space for local families. - Increase our delivery from every other week to once per week, meaning we can better help the most vulnerable this winter. - Run more sessions that promote physical wellbeing, introducing yoga and mindfulness sessions. - Organise healthy eating activities, ensuring that our community has access to nutritious foods this winter. - Reach more people.

What we'll deliver:

  • Weekly sessions that support physical and mental wellness, over the winter period
  • Create a warm space for family/wellness activities
  • Provide nutritious and high quality food for local people (Warm meals provided, as well as care hampers to take home)
  • Repurpose our outdoors space, creating an exciting space for recreation and relaxation

Why it's a great idea:

DiverCity Hub is situated in one of the most disadvantaged wards of Newcastle and our project will directly combat three of the most pressing issues our community faces... - Food Insecurity - Physical and Mental Health Issues - Deprivation caused by the Cost of Living Crisis We want to see a Newcastle that is truly equitable and equal, where our communities can access the things they need and no one goes without. Divercity Hub is privileged to work with an increasingly diverse group of people and we proudly serve many communities, but with a specific focus on refugee communities, disadvantaged families and those who are most vulnerable in our community. By supporting our project, you will be helping us make our vision come true, creating a Newcastle that... - supports families & children - creates opportunity for those who have been excluded - provides nutritious meals and warmth to those in need - promotes good health, both physical and mental - creates prosperous communities

Steps to get it done:

  • Continue sessions with increased capacity
  • Purchase hamper supplies for winter period
  • Organise outdoors space and install new furniture
  • Organise new sessions in outdoors space
