The idea
Many families in Blacon are waiting months for support while their children struggle with anxiety, emotional overwhelm and behaviour that affects home and school life. Parents are doing their best, but many feel exhausted and unsure where to turn.
At Rage Wellbeing CIC, we see this every week. Children who need routine, movement and a safe space to let off steam. Parents who need practical support and someone to listen.
This project will provide early, community-based wellbeing and physical activity support for children, alongside one-to-one support for parents. Funding will also allow us to offer fully funded places for families who cannot afford to access support privately.
Sessions will be delivered locally and in partnership with schools, offering families a safe, supportive option while they wait for longer-term services — helping prevent challenges from escalating and ensuring children are not left without support when they need it most.
What we'll deliver
- Deliver at least 25 parent support and coaching sessions to reduce crisis at home
- Run 4 x community group wellbeing workshops for children and parents
- Offer 25 fully funded places for vulnerable children to join our wellbeing and fitness programmes
- Work with 3 local schools to support children focus and improve within the classroom
Why it's a great idea
This project will bring life changing benefits to children and families who simply cannot wait for support. By funding this project, you help children reduce anxiety, build emotional stability, and regain confidence at a time when mental health services are overwhelmed. Parents will receive guidance, coaching and a safe space to talk through the challenges they face, easing stress and preventing crisis at home. Families who feel lost, isolated or unsupported will gain access to wellbeing sessions, early intervention and practical tools. This project strengthens family relationships, improves behaviour and school engagement, reduces emotional distress, and restores hope. Most importantly, it ensures that no child or parent is left to struggle alone while waiting months for help. The benefit is simple and powerful: stronger children, stronger parents, stronger communities.
