We had a celebration tonight in Lancaster library where members from the two separate painting groups from the Wellbeing Painting with Acrylics workshops came together for the first time. It was great for everyone to see each others work and talk about their experience and how much they enjoyed the opportunity and what they have been capable of achieving. Thanks again to you all for helping to make it happen. It would be great if you would be able to see the exhibition if you haven't already. The library is open 9 - 5pm daily and closed Sunday and Monday 28th April is the last day. If you do visit it would be great to have any feedback, you can email Roy at [email protected].
Today we have installed the the exhibition of completed work from the Wellbeing Project in Lancaster Library. We have called the exhibition Colour and Form and we hope some of you can get in to see the work that wouldn't exist without the support you gave to the project. We at King Street Arts and all the participants want to thankyou for making it possible and for bringing extra layers of creativity into peoples lives that otherwise wouldn't have had the chance to see what they could be capable of. Many Thanks. The exhibition runs 11th to 29th April and can be seen during the libraries opening times of 8 - 5pm Mon to Sat 7pm Wed
It's seems a long time now since the Crowdfund campaign ended, We haven't been idle, Last year we worked with various charities, visited many meeting sessions to discuss and share information and answer questions about the workshops we had planned. We delivered some taster workshops and by the end of December we had two groups of enthusiastic volunteers recruited and ready to start. So we are pleased to report that our wellbeing painting workshops got off to a good start in January. There are two groups; one where we are working with teenagers and one working with adults. A new year and a new start. Nearly at the halfway point, the 10 week program of workshops and activities will culminate in an exhibition of art selected from work created during the taught and untaught sessions. We have been working with skill and technique development and we will soon be handing out art materials; and with our support and encouragement the two groups will have the opportunity to work undirected at home to develop some for their own ideas. We will offer drop in sessions if they need support during the home working phase before coming back into the final run of group workshops. We will keep you updated and we really appreciate everyone's contribution into making this happen.
Brilliant news, thanks everyone!
