I am an exhibiting artist and curator working from my town of Doncaster in South Yorkshire with over 25 years of professional experience in various fields such as arts development, and advisory, community development, training and consultancy, banking and finance, recruitment and human resources and cosmetics.
In 2018 I founded an art organisation called Doncaster art fair which is gradually reshaping the Visual arts sector in the town and giving hope to the much negleced community of artists working in the town. Through this organisation, I have successfully exhibited the works of over 150 visual artists and more than 50 designers, many of whom through my coaching and mentoring, launched themselves into the art sector.
My work in the community includes the following:
Doncaster art fairs -This takes place 4 times per year in the Market area of the town centre.
Cube Exhibition at the Market - Bringing arts to the heart of the market in a rolling exhibition.
Artists in residence at the Doncaster corn exchange
Service for artists at the Doncaster Minster
And many other.
My latest project is the Waterdale art Gallery where I am collaborating with 31 artists to open a commercial self sustaining art gallery run by the artists themselves. The aim is to launch 5 such galleries in the town over a period of 10 years. This will totally transform the sector, increase tourism, provide a pathway for art students, provide internship opportunities for young people, and increase skill acquisition in the sector.
In my own right as an artist, my work has been exhibited at the Royal academy of arts summer exhibition in london, not 30% project by Kate Bryan, saatchi art online, Finalist at the global arts awards 2018, Raw talent award 2018.
My aim is to continuesly help to develop others, help to shape Doncaster while developing myself.
