More about our impact
Arts, culture & heritage
Our skatepark project supports arts, culture, and heritage by sustaining and growing an important part of local youth and street culture. Skateboarding, BMX, and similar activities are not just sports — they are forms of self-expression deeply connected to urban art, music, and community identity. By maintaining and improving the park, we’ve helped preserve a creative space where local artists, skaters, and performers can gather, collaborate, and contribute to the area’s cultural life. The skatepark has long been a hub for events, art projects, and murals that reflect our community’s character and heritage, and our improvements ensure that continues for future generations.
Activity, health and leisure
Our project promotes activity, health, and leisure by providing a safe, inclusive, and well-maintained space for people of all ages to stay active through skateboarding, BMX, and scootering. The skatepark encourages regular physical activity, helping improve balance, coordination, and overall fitness while offering a positive outlet for energy and creativity. The addition of new, accessible toilet facilities has also made the park more inclusive, ensuring that everyone — including those with disabilities — can comfortably take part in and enjoy the space. Beyond the physical benefits, the skatepark promotes mental wellbeing and social connection by giving the community a place to meet, have fun, and support each other in a healthy and active environment.
