The idea
Your donations will support two organisations at once - Wac Arts College and Vauxhall City Farm. Wac Arts College is an alternative educational school for disengaged youth. Some of our students also come from rough backgrounds, and between home life and school life, don't really get the chance to just be kids. For a group of our kids who have excelled since joining Wac Arts we want to reward them with a trip to Vauxhall City Farm where we can reserve time for the kids to pet the animals and walk around the farm. The money we raise will go towards paying Vauxhall City Farm to reserve time for our students. We will be able to provide a fun, enjoyable day away from the stress of exams, school, and normal life for one day for our students and Vauxhall City Farm will receive much needed funds to help provide necessities for their animals.
What we'll deliver
- Provide a fun day for students from Wac Arts College who have excelled in their attendance ad studies
- Provide funds for Vauxhall City Farm at the same time
- Educate our students about the farm
Why it's a great idea
We believe that young people need to be rewarded. Especially, since Wac Arts college specialises in taking in young people who have come to us from other schools due to various issues we like to show our students that good things do happen to those who work hard and stay out of trouble. A lot of our kids are highly talented and intelligent and we feel it is important to provide incentives for them to keep on a positive path. We also feel that the education that City Farms provide are important and want to support them. I personally also feel that City Farms provide atmospheres which is good for mental health and allows people to relax and de-stress from normal city life.
Steps to get it done
- Provide our students with an appreciation for nature and animals
- Help our students realise the importance that leisure has on mental health and creativity
- Provide support and funds for Vauxhall City Farm to continue providing activities for the public
