Phase 2 of a community led initiative to upgrade our recreation ground, a community hub and gateway to Barnes Common. Engaging the local people in consultation, testing and finalising the Master Plan.
About the Project Creator
Working in partnership with Richmond Council, Barnes Common Limited (BCL) a local independent charity overseas the stewardship of Barnes Common, Leg o’ Mutton Wetland and Vine Road Park.
Formed in 1992 as the Friends of Barnes Common (FoBC), BCL has been a not-for-profit, limited liability company with charitable status since April 2013.
Conservation has always been at the heart of all that we do and continues to be today. Whether we are preserving precious woodlands, creating important wildlife habitats, sowing seeds in our Community Growing area, introducing the community to the bats at Leg o’ Mutton or engaging the community in our Lifelong Learning program, the Vine Road Project and Flood Resilience.
We continue to look to the future, making a meaningful contribution in conserving our green spaces for all its inhabitants and for those who share them now and in the future.
We have an active and growing membership, many of whom are part of our dedicated and invaluable team of volunteers. With their help we engage and support the community in all our concerns giving us the credibility to campaign and apply for funding to further our vision and mission.
