More people are able to visit the church, tearooms and court now that the access is safer. The BBC recently chose the church for filming.

Volunteering, jobs & education

Volunteering, jobs & education

Volunteers are much more willing to work shifts now that the road is improved. We have one new volunteer so far. The following comment is from Kate Ramsey, headteacher of Great Witley CE Primary School: Great Witley CE Primary School is a welcoming and inclusive village primary school. We have excellent links with our local church, St Michaels and All Angels @Great Witley and it is important that our pupils get the opportunity to visit and worship there as regularly as possible. The church is a mile from the school and the children walk up the drive. Previously this could often be a wet and muddy potholed walk, improvements to the driveway have ensured that this is a much safer walk up to the church. Children can use their normal footwear other than using wellies every time. Although the children still move to the side when traffic uses the track this is much safer as the cars are not having to drive to avoid the potholes. It has made a significant improvement to our walk to church. Mrs Kate Ramsey Headteacher

Arts, culture & heritage

Arts, culture & heritage

There is a noticeable increase in the number of wheelchair users visiting the church, tearooms and court, and moving between the three sites. The better facilities enabled the BBC to use the site for filming 'Father Brown'. Great Witley Primary School attended for their Easter Service and 186 children took part in two concerts in June.

Activity, health and leisure

Activity, health and leisure

There has been an increase in people enjoying the beautiful relaxed surroundings of the Witley Court Estate. We have further plans for promoting the lovely tearoom garden walk.
