Umeed Wellbeing Hub is seeking funding to purchase computers to deliver Digital Skills to vulnerable community members.
We will provide Digital Skills to local vulnerable community members living in London Borough of Ealing. Our Digital Centre will be based at Jasmin Community Centre, Lancaster Road, Southall, UB1 1AT, three days weekly on every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The Digital Hub will teach people important digital skills which will help them become independent by: Connecting with family and friends online Web search to find information, recipes etc. Book online appointments Access their bank accounts Online shopping and more We also would like to provide cycling activities for our vulnerable clients including those who are elderly and disabled. We would like to buy 6 good quality tricycles for people to exercise, learn new skills and improve their physical and mental health issues. We will run two days weekly sessions at the local park (Spikes Bridge Park).

*The service will improve people’s mental and physical wellbeing, *Signposting to services to Connect & make friendships in the community *Learn practical skills to become independent e.g., digital skills, reading, and writing skills *Increased support access from existing services, *Increased Confidence with making decisions in day-to-day life *Volunteering opportunities will increase employability and boost economy. *Cultural and Art Activities will bring people together and also it will support local Art, Culture and Heritage *Movement and exercise activities will improve people's mental and physical health and it will promote activity and leisure. *Activities will help take pressure off the statutory services
Steps to get it done:
We are working in partnership with several community organisations as it is important for us to bring together expertise and experience for the benefit and best interest of our service users. We have built relationships with solicitors, therapists, counselling services, funding agencies, to meet our service user’s and community needs. Some of the organisations we work with are: Kairos Community Counselling who are providing our clients one to one counselling weekly Pushpalata Dance Troupe are providing occasional dance therapy sessions Idealist Arts Collective are helping us with developing our website, advertisement and promoting Umeed service user’s art to galleries. We receive referrals from Mind in Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow Mind Food GP Surgeries in Ealing and Hounslow Secondary Care mental health services Local community groups and services We are building further contacts with local services and running a quarterly Forums which brings communities together.
