I translate peoples stories into abstract pieces of art. I'd love to share my process with the Church Street community, a live interactive performance that will equip others to repeat the process.

I am a london based artist . I have a studio in Church St. I was born in Nairobi and raised between Africa, Hong Kong, Germany and the UK, I have spent much of my life travelling to foreign parts exploring and experiencing different cultures around the world, I loved documenting some of the places I lived and spent time in. Exploring as well as their beaches, cities, architecture and its relationship to the power and form of nature. My inspirations are a fusion of influences, my father was an architect, my love for cities can be found in my collection entitled Cityscapes as well as they appearing as more rough brush strokes in my other abstract pieces in charcoal and acrylic. I introduced Marilyn Monroe into some of my works as well as Bettie Paige both icons and strong figures. I'm an artist of extremes in that, I will for some paintings, take extrodinary amounts of time and patience to draw in acrylic pen as can be seen in my Nature series, as well as Metropolis and indeed His and Her Meditation, pieces that can all be found on my site. These are my own form of meditation. I just go with the flow and where the pen leads me. My work as you will see if you look at my art is very eclectic. people say you'd be better known if you concentrated on just one type of work, that maybe, however I love to do exactly as I feel, my work is pretty organic like that. I don't pre draw before putting paint to canvas and don't have any rigid rules.

The Translations project on the other hand I've tailored specifically and there are guidelines. The seats back to back in order not to distract. The five deep breaths we both take before starting for instance in order to centre ourselves. and connect to one another. My question following after of "do you sense any colours", then they are free to speak as I translate what I'm hearing for them.

Unlike my own work where it's based on my experiences, feelings and mood etc. Translations is about other peoples. Listening to someone else in order I can interrept well what they have trusted to share with me. I love the collaboration and working with people from all walks of life. In turn they have beautiful copies of the paintings when finished and will be able to see them in future exhibitions of mine. Aswell book and documentary if enough funds are raised.
